Zoo Studio — New Website Launches

Welcome to the brand new Zoo Studio website.

It’s been a very busy week! We have had a full appointments diary, photographing some beautiful animals, and on top of this we have been working hard getting the content sorted for this website. Do have a look at the gallery, maybe your pet is in there.

Additionally, we are busy expanding our product range. New to the Price List are prints mounted on Aluminium, and we have just got back some of our display prints for the studio wall. All I can say is WOW! The photos really pop, they look absolutely stunning. We have a photo of our boy Christian as a 26x26inch, the depth and clarity has to be seen to be believed. If you want to see an example, get in touch and we can arrange a time.

As if that isn’t enough, we are also planning some exciting events that are happening next month. The first event is the Perth Royal Show, we will be there each day, sharing a stand with SAFE (Saving Animals From Euthanasia). We are launching a calendar, on which we have been working very hard since February, so come and visit us and buy a calendar, all proceeds go to SAFE and they are such a very good cause.

Also coming up at the end of September, we are at Fair Day. I’m really looking forward to that, we are sponsoring the Dog Show, and Beck is a judge! We also have a stand, so if you are going to be there do come along and say hello.

Last, but certainly not least, I wanted to introduce you to a very special boy. His name is Teddy, and he is a beautiful Shar Pei. His owner Geoff bought him in last week, for a photo session for the SAFE calendar, it was a privilege to photograph him, and I’m very pleased to say he will have a month to himself.

That’s it for this week, please do feel free to leave a comment, we look forward to hearing from you.

All the best

  7. Geoff Birkbeck and Teddy Bear says:

    Ken,

Nice to see Teddy get a write up. Since the photo shoot Teddy has had 2 lots of eye surgery and we both have moved up to the Pilbara. Teddy misses his old life doing the “meet and greet” in Oxford Street Leederville and spends his time trying to keep cool in the Pilbara heat.

Teddy’s story is that I first saw him the the City of Stirling pound and 3 months later found him in the care of SAFE. He needed a lot of surgery according to the pound and I did not have secure accommodation at the time. He put on 7 kgs in 5 weeks under my care and it was revealed that he had an untreated broken tail and hairline fracture of his skull. Teddy was very shy with me at first but adored female company. It took a bit for him to settle in and is a very aloof dog. He loves his toys and rides in the car and his favorite past time is sleeping. He hardly barks, only when i come home, or when something disturbs him or after 5 minutes of being left at a shop. He holds off for that time then starts up. Teddy loves his “mum” Sue, my partner and sue doesn’t let him get away with much unlike his “Dad”. He loves other dogs especially small ones and children. Teddy is protective of Sue to the point he walks in front of her when we spend time together. Teddy too some time to adjust to my shift work and stayed with a friend when I was on 12 hour days. He was good when I was on nights sleeping most of the day when I did after having a play in the mornings.

Teddy got recognized after the calendar was released. One woman stopped me in Kings Park and asked was he the one in it. Strangers would call out to him by name. People came out of shops and resturants and even stopped their cars to see if it was him. Of course he loved it. Teddy was considered an “Oxford Street Personality” and I believe got a mention in a rock newspaper article about Greens and Co cafe being “the ice cream eating dog”

I made some wonderful friends through Teddy. I met my partner and soon to be wife Sue though him in directly. I got to speak to some lovely people that I would never have met unless it was for him. In my last job all I met was some nasty ones. When I got stabbed at work poor Teddy could not understand why I could not walk and had to stay with friends.

Now as a Ranger, my association with SAFE still applies but in a different capacity. SAFE Perth has re-homed 3 dogs for me in the past 5 weeks. 2 found homes immediately. I send dogs out of district to Perth so they can have a better chance of a new life. I miss everyone of them. Teddy has become “The Official Prison Visitor” as I use him to see how the inmates get on socially. My first impound believe it or not was a female shar pei in poor condition. She was sent to SAFE in a much healthier condition than she arrived with me.

Teddy has changed my life. I learned to be responsible for another living creature, I had to learn to cook as he needed a balance diet, he taught me how to love again. I met Sue because of him. I would be lost without my boy.
